A CO Tyrone engineering firm has announced plans to create 150 jobs "by 2020" at its new Cookstown headquarters.
CDE, the industry-leading solutions provider of wet processing equipment, officially opened its new global headquarters yesterday.
The new facility, which can accommodate over 400 people, is home to the world’s largest engineering team dedicated to wet processing technologies and is set to grow larger still.
Having increased staff numbers by 65 per cent over the last two years, CDE has targeted the creation of a further 150 jobs by 2020.
CDE managing director, Brendan McGurgan believes the new base will allow the company to continue to expand its international client base.
"As we continue to see strong growth in markets around the world for our range of wet processing equipment, our new headquarters provides an outstanding base from which to expand and develop our business and our workforce," he said.
"We believe we have created a highly advanced facility that matches CDE’s excellence, ambition and reputation.”
CDE chairman, Tony Convery added:
“Our goal is to deliver a consistent, world-class service to our customers and we now have a world-class headquarters from which to do that. It is somewhere that we are very proud to bring customers to from around the word, and which will help us to continue to recruit the very best engineers and people in the industry.”
The Tyrone company has also announced the creation of the CDE Talent Camp, which will provide 15-17-year-olds from schools and colleges across Northern Ireland the opportunity to take their first steps into engineering.
Following an application process, 20 pupils will be selected to spend a week in June at CDE’s new base, meeting its engineers, exploring its operations, and gaining invaluable engineering and business experience. The company’s talent team will also be on hand to provide training, advice, and coaching.
Founded in 1992, CDE Global has designed, manufactured and commissioned more wet processing plants than any other company in the world and has delivered over 1,000 projects.
Last March the company paid an undisclosed sum to purchase the 300,000 sq ft Caterpillar manufacturing plant in Monkstown.
