TWO unique holdings have come up for sale again in Co Fermanagh at discounted prices - a six-acre scenic wooded island on Upper Lough Erne and a 22-acre country park with full planning permission for up to 30 cottages.

Crehan Island, close to Derryad Quay near the market town of Lisnaskea, boasts an abundance of wildlife and has its own cruiser jetty.

It has gone on sale with a guide price of £92,750, and comes with its own four-berth 28ft diesel motor cruiser (worth around £12,000).

Described as a little piece of heaven on the Erne, Crehan Island was once part of the Cavandish Butler family estates in south west Fermanagh, which included Lanesborough Lodge near Castle Saunderson, also the neighbouring island of Inish Wrath with its fine Victorian mansion house built in the 1800s.

Listed by agency Templeton Robinson, the island (details at www.crehanisland.co.uk) had previously been under offer, but the sale fell through when the purchaser was unable to raise the necessary funds.

Meanwhile the nearby Derryad Country Park is on the market with a guide price of £375,000,and is being seen as an excellent Brexit-proof investment opportunity.

The 22-acre site near Belturbet, Co Cavan has full planning for up to 30 cottages, a marina and lakeside restaurant.

It is supported by Tourist NI with a five star eco green lakeside holiday setting in mind, and according to agents Mongomery Finlay, it represents an "exciting project" for prospective buyers.
