THE Cuan Hotel, which has been at the heart of Strangford village since 1811, is up for sale.

Run since 1989 by Peter and Caroline McErlean, the property includes a well established licensed guest inn/restaurant/bar & hot food takeaway as well as a four-bedroom detached family home.

The purpose built property is fully fitted internally and is currently arranged to provide an 80 seater restaurant, 35-seater public bar, 35-seater lounge, and kitchen, with guest accommodation on first floor level boosting nine en-suite bedrooms.

Famed for its award winning seafood dishes, the Cuan (www.thecuan.com) is also a popular stop-off for Game of Thrones tours, as it boasts a themed room full of swords and garments dedicated to the fantasy series.

The property, which is for sale by private treaty, is being sold through the Colliers commercial property agency in Belfast.

Neither Colliers nor the owners would comment on the sale nor indicate what is the asking price.

Located in Strangford village square, the hotel is close to a number of visitor attractions such as Castle Ward National Trust, the St Patrick trail in Downpatrick, Downpatrick racecourse and the Down County Museum.
