A CARRICKFERGUS-based fit-out firm has completed a major contract on Ireland's first Center Parcs resort.
McCue Crafted Fit carried out work on a number of food and beverage and retail stores at the new €233 million Center Parcs forest resort in Co Longford, which opened to the public on July 29.
The contract comprised the total shell fit-out of six units to form two food and beverage outlets; Bella Italia and The Coffee House. The company also completed the fit-out of retail units; Spirit, Time for Shade, The Store Room, Aquatique and Just Kids. Additionally, over the course of the three-month contract, McCue completed mechanical and electrical work, as well as specialist tiling, metal work, bespoke joinery and decorating.
McCue managing director, Les McCracken described the Center Parcs project as a "great opportunity" for his team.
"Center Parcs is renowned for their popularity across the UK and utilising our many years of experience, we are delighted to have left our mark on what’s sure to be, one of Ireland’s most popular tourist destinations," he said.
The Center Parcs contract is part of a resurgence in business from the Irish market and follows on from recent McCue work in Dublin at the Merrion Hotel and Café en Seine
“We experienced great success in the Republic of Ireland before the recession, but we made the decision to shift our focus to other geographical locations when the market began to change. Given our experience, we know that there will be further projects secured, adding to our already extensive portfolio of high-end refurbishment and fit-outs in Ireland," Mr McCracken added.
McCue is one of a number of local companies who worked on the Center Parcs resort in Co Longford.
Limavady manufacturer FastHouse, provided and erected the frames for the 466 timber lodges at the resort, while Ballynure-based RGM Vent completed the full ventilation works.
Henderson Foodservice is supplying the ambient food at the 400-acre tourist attraction, while the frozen food contract was awarded to Lynas Foodservice in Coleraine.
