Dale Farm to share sustainability strategy at energy forum

DAIRY giant Dale Farm will share its sustainability strategy with over 100 members of the local business community at the latest energy forum event held by Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NI Chamber) and SONI.

The event on Thursday October 17 is an opportunity for energy users and suppliers to learn about Dale Farm’s sustainability strategy and share best-practice with each other. Chris McAlinden, group operations director at the dairy co-operative will outline how Dale Farm is leading the way by reducing its carbon footprint and increasing efficiency.

Other speakers include Jo Aston, managing director of SONI who will share the company's corporate strategy; and Meabh Cormacain, strategic investment board energy adviser at the Department for the Economy, who will discuss the development of a new energy strategy for Northern Ireland. Attendees will also hear from Peter Baillie, managing director of Energia Renewables on its plans for an anaerobic digestion facility in Giant’s Park, Belfast’s Cleantech Hub.
