MARKS and Spencer has said the redevelopment of its food store in Newtownabbey has created 70 new jobs.
The retailer will officially reopen its new food hall at the Abbeycentre on December 4. It’s the first M&S on the island of Ireland to be given the new food store concept.
The retailer said it has recruited 90 new staff, including 20 temporary workers, who have been employed on a permanent basis. It brings the total staff count at the Co Antrim store to 285.
Store manager Colin McGreevy said: “I want to thank our customers for being so patient during the refurbishment. The team has been working so hard to get ready for the unveiling of our bigger, better, fresher store in time for Christmas.”
