BESPOKE interior fit-out and refurbishment contractor Konstruct Interiors has been awarded a £4 million contact to undertake works at a new four-star hotel being built in Lisburn for Bill Wolsey's Beannchor Group.
The company recently completed work on high-profile projects in Dublin and at Kensington and Mayfair in London, but this will be its first in the hotels sector in Northern Ireland.
Konstruct - which is currently enrolled in the Ulster Bank Entrepreneur Accelerator programme - will be responsible for the conversion, refurbishment and fit out of The Haslem, Lisburn's first city centre hotel, which is due to open next year.
The firm specialises in delivering bespoke, fit-out projects for high-end residential, corporate workplace, retail and hospitality outlets across the UK and Ireland.
Managing director Martin Kernan credits his time with the Ulster Bank Accelerator programme as a key element behind much of the group's success.
"We only joined in March, and while we weren't a traditional start-up business, we knew we needed help to accelerate our growth. Over the last six months we've received invaluable mentorship and been introduced to key players within the industry who have helped us to win lucrative contracts.
"Surrounded by so many other entrepreneurs, and with the support from the Accelerator programme mentors, has definitely helped us develop our business structures. We are a young, driven company with a solid business acumen and the means to recruit the best people to our team."
John Ferris, Ulster Bank's entrepreneur development manager, who provided mentorship to Konstruct, said: "Quite often business owners focus on getting an idea off the ground but don't always plan how they can sustain or scale their operations further down the line.
"Konstruct Interiors utilised their time with the Accelerator programme to put solid growth trajectories in place and I'm delighted to see they've been appointed to deliver the fit-out for this hotly-anticipated hotel."
