AN Omagh-based manufacturer has said a new £4 million facility built on the edge of the Co Tyrone market town will create 50 jobs.
Naturelle Consumer Products, which makes disposable contamination control products for the medical, pharmaceutical, industrial and retail sectors, has already recruited ten people as part of its ongoing expansion, bringing the workforce to 60.
The company, which was set up in 1987, has completed the new factory extension at its base in the Bankmore Way East Industrial Park, just of the A5.
Invest NI is offering the Naturelle £435,000 for the project. It says the 50 additional jobs, with average salaries of around £24,000, will eventually be worth £1.2 million in wages.
Naturelle’s customers include some of the world’s top ten pharmaceutical companies.
The Omagh firm’s managing director, Gabriel Bradley, said 2019 had been a significant year for the business, with new contracts secured in Norway and Canada.
“To deliver these and meet the projected increased demand from our existing customers worldwide, we believe now is the right time for us to expand our manufacturing capability and increase our workforce,” he said.
“We are delighted with the invaluable support we have received from Invest NI over the years which has included support for our R&D activities, export support to break into new markets and now assistance to expand our workforce and factory.
“This new investment represents our ongoing commitment to the local Omagh area and to continuing innovation which is ensuring we stay ahead of the competition in an increasingly fast paced global industry.”
Invest NI’s new chief executive, Kevin Holland, said: “Global healthcare spend is increasing due to major global challenges including the ageing population. This in turn is driving the industry to invent new ways to better treat and manage patients.
“In recognition of this, over the last 25 years Naturelle has grown into a globally innovative company with its pioneering products now distributed in over 100 countries and across 14,000 European retail outlets.
The Omagh manufacturer’s is the latest firm in the Omagh business park to pump significant funds into expanding faciltiies.
Last January, Telestack, which manufactures bulk material handling machinery on a site next door, announced a £5m plan to significantly expand its premises.
