A LUXURY guesthouse has opened in Moira following a six-figure investment.
The ten-bedroom Ralph’s Moira opened on the site the former Moira Guest House earlier this month.
Husband and wife duo Lynne and Jonathan McCabe, who run Lisnacurran Country House, are behind the venture in the Co Down village. Their renovation programme has been backed by Ulster Bank.
Derick Wilson, business development manager at Ulster Bank, said: “Lynne and Jonathan have an outstanding track record in this sector.
“Their immensely successful Lisnacurran Country House has laid the foundation for the duo to grow their portfolio and acquire this B1 listed property, now home to the boutique accommodation Ralph’s Moira.”
Lynne McCabe said: “We wanted to work with some of the best local suppliers, so I collaborated with my design partner Sarah Brankin from The House of Curtains, Moira on the headboard designs and worked with Balmoral Furniture on their manufacturing.
“We wanted Ralph’s to have impact and leave a lasting impression on our guests in terms of the quality of our product, both upon arrival and as a memory lasting beyond of duration of their stay,” she added.
The new guesthouse takes its names from Ralph Lutton (1723-1779), the first resident of 65 Main Street, Moira and one of the County Down village’s most respected businessmen.
