DISCOUNT retailer Home Bargain has confirmed its new west Belfast superstore will open on February 29.

A total of 50 jobs have been created for the 20,000 sq ft space at The Park Centre.

Home Bargains said that alongside landlord Latt Ltd, it has invested £1.5 million in the new store.

Director of Latt Ltd, Stephen McGeown described the new store, along with a new B&M Stores unit in recent months, has boosted footfall at the retail park.

"Home Bargains will occupy over 20,000 sq ft in total, occupying the remaining half of the the former Dunnes Stores grocery unit, which will further enhance the retail offering in the centre.

"The new Home Bargains superstore will have the largest frozen and chilled sections of Home Bargains' Belfast stores.

“We are also delighted that Connected Health, CCU Credit Union, Jill Edwards Florists, Performance Workwear, Maggie's Dog Grooming Services, PK Vapes and Hays Travel have recently opened new units in The Park Centre also.”

Senior director of CBRE, Alana Coyle, who worked on the Home Bargains deal, said: “The addition of the Home Bargains superstore to The Park Centre is fantastic news.

“We are delighted to have worked with Latt Ltd to bring this significant investment, totalling over 20,000 sq ft, to fruition.

“Discussions are at an advanced stage with other brand names and we are looking forward to adding further new retailers in the period ahead.”
