Dublin data-protection specialist Sytorus sets up Northern Ireland operation

DUBLIN-based data-protection specialist and software and solutions developer Sytorus is establishing a new distributed business services team in Northern Ireland, creating 13 jobs.

The company, founded in 2013, provides GDPR and data privacy solutions for organisations in retail, hospitality, not-for-profit, medical & clinical research, financial services, local government and government agencies.

It is the firm's first investment in the north and is part of its plans to grow in international markets.

Invest NI has offered the company £91,000 towards the creation of the new jobs, with recruitment under way for roles in sales development and account management, with opportunities for graduates.

Sytorus chief executive Dr John Ghent said: “The move by more businesses to shift services online in response to the Covid-19 pandemic further complicates compliance with data privacy laws such as GDPR.

“Our new team, which will be home-based, will help us meet the rising demand for data privacy and data protection solutions and services across the globe.

“We're excited to tap into an increased talent pool from all across Northern Ireland, not restricted by geography or personal circumstances.”

When in place, the new Sytorus jobs will contribute £440,000 in additional annual salaries.
