Software firm Totalmobile in biggest-ever acquisition

BELFAST-based software company Totalmobile has completed its biggest-ever acquisition by date by buying workforce management and analytics technology provider Cognito iQ in Newbury.

The deal, signed for an undisclosed sum, will add transport and logistics-focused customers including Hermes, Transport for London and Argos to its customer portfolio.

Cognito iQ’s technology enables customers to manage data better and closely analyse ongoing operations via a control room that ensures services are being delivered efficiently.

It will be rebranded and launched as Totalmobile’s new ‘Analyse’ product, presenting a significant opportunity to offer the product to Totalmobile’s existing customer base of more than 1,000 organisations.

Totalmobile is a market leader in field service and mobile workforce management technology (FSM), helping organisations deliver more service of the highest quality and at reduced cost, and this deal is its sixth in the last two years.

With 220 staff in six locations across the UK and Ireland, including its headquarters at Clarendon Dock in Belfast, Totalmobile supports 250,000 front line workers to deliver exceptional services every day.

And its says the latest acquisition sets the company firmly on track to achieve its goal of becoming the world’s largest regional FSM company by the end of 2021.

“With this acquisition of Cognito iQ, we have added a market leading real time analytics software solution that enables any customer to drive continuous improvement across their operations.

“In addition, this technology strongly complements our existing solutions which are providing our customers with mobile working, dynamic scheduling, job management, staff rostering and lone worker protection capabilities.”

He added: “The acquisition of Cognito iQ, the largest in the history of our company, comes shortly after the addition of utilities sector specialist GeoPal, and highlights the giant strides we are making.”

Currently, Totalmobile has been providing digital support for the Census process, with its software providing mobile working and scheduling support to census field workers.
