IRELAND’S largest whiskey festival will take place in Belfast in July.

Belfast Whiskey Week will run over nine days from July 23 to July 31 with most events operating virtually.

Developed by Belfast-based businessman Paul Kane and backed by Belfast Whiskey Club, the event is now in its third year.

A limited number of live events will take place throughout the nine-day programme, but the festival will be a largely virtual experience, with 85 live tastings and 50 entertainment events broadcast from a number of Belfast venues.

The schedule will also feature whiskey Q&As, debate sessions, access to distilleries, food pairings and cocktail making.

“We are delighted to provide limited in-person participation this year which will follow Covid safety guidelines,” said Paul Kane.

“We will continue to connect with our audiences at home and around the world by providing access to a virtual and digitally interactive experience from noon to midnight, spanning nine consecutive days, by using the latest technology.

“Participants can hone their tastes, experiment with new flavors as well as interact online with fellow enthusiasts.”

Belfast Whiskey Week is sponsored by Irish Whiskey App, Willis Insurance and the Hastings Hotel Group.
