NEWRY-based First Derivatives has officially changed its group name to FD Technologies plc.
The move is part of re-organisation of the software giant’s structure, first announced in May 2021.
FD Technologies is now the umbrella group name for three businesses: KX, First Derivative and MRP.
The proposed change of the group name was passed during last week’s annual general meeting.
Trading under the rebranded listed company’s shares commenced on Monday.
Speaking to The Irish News about the new strategy earlier this year, FD Technologies' chief executive Seamus Keating said it was part of the efforts to give each brand of the business its own distinct identity and market, with the ultimate goal of maximising its potential for growth.
Last week’s AGM also saw Keith MacDonald step down from the FD board as a non-executive director.
The former managing director of structured corporate finance for Lloyds Banking Group had served on the FD board since 2012
Paying tribute, group chair, Donna Troy said: “During his nine years on the board, Keith has made an outstanding contribution to the development of the group and his guidance has been invaluable.
“On behalf of the board I thank him for his dedication and service.”
