BANBRIDGE-based contractor Kane has secured two new deals in England worth £15 million.

The mechanical and engineering (M&E) contracts are from Gilbert Ash on behalf of ThamesWey Development for two phases of the Canalside project in Woking, Surrey.

The first phase will take 11 months to complete, with the second lasting around 16 months.

Kane has been appointed to deliver the design, build and full MEP (mechanical, electrical and plumbing) installation throughout both phases, which consists of 292 dwellings, a community centre and retail space.

The Banbridge contractor recently completed a 14-month M&E contract at the Canalside Project worth £4.5m.

The firm's managing director, Cathal McMullan, said: The Kane team are delighted to secure a further two phases at Canalside Project with another NI based company, Gilbert Ash.

"Kane’s highly experienced in-house design team will provide forward thinking design solutions utilising our in-house prefabricated manufacturing facility to deliver off-site construction methodologies.”
