OMAGH-based insurance broking firm Dickson & Co has completed its second acquisition of 2021 with the purchase of Morrison Associates in Limavady.
It comes on the back of its take-over of E McParland Insurances of Newry earlier this year, and brings the number of acquisitions made by the business in its 29 years of trading to 10.
Dickson & Co now has a network of seven offices across the north and recently also expanded into the GB market with representation in the Midlands.
Over the last two years the company - which now trades with a premium value of nearly £30 million - has recruited two new directors in Gavin Mitchell and Lynette McKeown, who have extensive experience across broking and underwriting in Northern Ireland and Britain.
It also operates in the Republic under its Dickson & Wilson Insurance Brokers Limited brand, following the acquisition and subsequent rebranding of the former Gunn Robinson Brokers in 2019. The operation at Dunboyne, in Co Meath, is jointly owned and operated with Wilson Insurance Brokers.
Ashley Dickson, managing director of Dickson & Co, said: "We're delighted to welcome Morrisons and McParlands into our family business, and know that Eric Morrison, Sharon Armstrong and Manny McParland all share our desire to offer high-quality insurance advice delivered locally."
He added: "We intend to make further acquisitions early next year to grow our business and widen our presence."
The expansion of the business will be supported by the firm’s recent investment in its training academy, a state-of-the-art facility that will be used to train new and existing employees as its workforce grows.
Founded in 1992, the wholly family-owned business has grown steadily to become one of the leading, most progressive independent insurance brokers in Northern Ireland, currently employing close to 100 staff.
