BELFAST-based digital services group Kainos has announced its second business acquisition of 2022.

The tech unicorn has bought Netherlands-based Planalyse for an undisclosed sum, expanding its presence in western Europe with six new consultants.

It’s the seventh company involved in the Workday ecosystem to be acquired by Kainos.

Workday is a cloud-based financial management and office management software.

Like Kainos’ recent acquisitions IntuitiveTEK, Formulate and Implexa; Planalyse specializes in Workday Adaptive Planning software, providing services to customers in Benelux, Spain and Portugal.

It comes just six weeks after Kainos announced the purchase of Seattle-based Blackline.

Kainos chief executive Brendan Mooney said: “For over 16 years, Planalyse have been a leader in the deployment of financial planning and analysis solutions.

“In combining our two experienced teams, we are extending our ability to support our European customers with their Workday Adaptive Planning requirements."

Kainos now employs around 2,500 people across Europe, North America, and South America, adding around 800 people in the past two years.
