US business services giant Concentrix is launching a recruitment drive in Donegal as part of its plans to create 50 remote working jobs across the border.

The company, which has offices in Derry, Belfast and Dublin, already employs around 4,300 people across the island, part of a global group of 270,000 people.

While the positions are open across the Republic, Concentrix said it will initially focus on Donegal given its close proximity to the group’s base at the Ulster Science and Technology Park in Derry city.

The Irish operation mainly provides customer experience and digital solutions for a range of sectors across the world, from tech, retail and travel, to banking, energy and the public sector.

Commenting on the recruitment drive, Sarah McKay, vice president of service delivery for Concentrix, said, "We see great potential in the Donegal region.

“With 160,000 residents and a rich pool of talented, well-educated people who we hope will want to come and join an award-winning international company like Concentrix, we are very excited about moving into Donegal and bringing new flexible employment opportunities to the county.”

The move has been backed by the Republic’s International Development Association (IDA).

The IDA’s chief executive, Martin Shanahan said: “This decision by Concentrix to expand its Irish operations and offer remote working opportunities is very welcome news and demonstrates IDA Ireland’s continued commitment to winning jobs and investment for regional locations.”
