In the past year the Mills Selig team, led by managing partner and head of corporate Chris Guy, has more than doubled deal volume, and despite the economy being under the veil of a pandemic, the firm’s corporate team hit a record breaking half a billion pounds in total deal value for the year.

Specialising in a wide range of corporate and commercial matters, the team is highly regarded for its handling of sales and acquisitions of companies and businesses, joint ventures, private equity investments and corporate reorganisations.

Mills Selig’s corporate team continues to be the go-to legal adviser for FD Technologies and has retained its role as UK advisor for French listed Questel Group.

Significant deals managed by the team within the past year include, acting for the seller of a portfolio of wind turbine projects that represented the largest transaction of its kind in Northern Ireland in 2021, acting on the sale of Natural World Products, advising Hospital Services Limited on the £3.5m private equity investment made by Northern Irish Foresight Group and acting on the acquisition of the Old Inn, Crawfordsburn by local hospitality giant The Galgorm Collection.

The corporate team boasts a range of highly skilled and experienced lawyers, including Senior Partner, John Kearns who has almost 30 years of experience in corporate law. Supporting Chris Guy at partner level is Glenn Watterson and newly appointed partner, Darren Marley who was promoted towards the end of 2021.

Mills Selig corporate team acted on more than 50 M&A transactions during the qualifying period for Insider Media Dealmaker Awards. On announcing the award, the judges commented that the doubling in deal volume and deal value made Mills Selig the outstanding law firm this year.

Chris Guy said: “It is an honour to receive this award. which reflects the high standard of work we do, as one team across the entire firm.

“It's been a busy year, and 2022 is set to continue in this trajectory. Our team has expanded, and we are in a very strong position in terms of our strength in depth.”
