LIFESTYLE fashion brand Kate Spade New York will open its first store in the north at The Boulevard in Banbridge next month.
The luxury designer chain, known for its handbags, has just one other outlet on the island of Ireland, located at Kildare Village.
It’s set to open its second Irish outlet in a 1,458 sq ft unit at the entrance to The Boulevard in April.
The Boulevard’s retail director, Chris Nelmes said the shopping destination has emerged from pandemic strongly.
“We have consistently bucked the national data, which has pointed at a downturn in discretional retail spend. Instead we have welcomed more visitors than ever before, had some of our best sales months on record and onboarded new tenants.”
The Boulevard’s owners, Lotus Property was advised by Johnstone Property Consultants and KLM Real Estate.
Dominic Brady from KLM Real Estate said Kate Spade New York is “notoriously selective” when it comes to opening new outlets.
“We are delighted to welcome the brand to the scheme,” he said. “It is proven to attract a premium shopper so this letting will pave the way for other game-changing brands to join us.”
