A BELFAST-born international hotelier and a senior figure at Deloitte have been recognised by Ulster University as this year’s honorary graduates.

Paddy McKillen and Jackie Henry are two of eight people recognised by the university. The other recipients span the health, sport and local government sectors.

Ms Henry, who joined Deloitte's UK leadership team in May 2021, is being recognised “for the key role she has played in the economic prosperity and growth of Northern Ireland” and also for her advocacy of diversity, inclusion and social mobility, particularly in building skills and providing access to education.

Meanwhile Mr McKillen’s career in property development and hospitality, together with his role in promoting peace and reconciliation across Ireland, will also be recognised.

Mr McKillen has built up a portfolio of prime assets and is known for buying the Savoy Hotel Group with other investors in 2004.

Shortly afterwards the group sold the Savoy Hotel and changed the name to the Maybourne Hotel Group which includes three of the finest hotels in the world – Claridges, The Connaught and The Berkeley.
