AN innovative Ballymena software firm which has pioneered the integration of high-resolution drone mapping imagery for cemeteries and crematoria has been boosted with a £5 million cash injection, led by an equity fund with £6 billion under its management.
PlotBox is receiving the capital investment from Guinness Ventures, part of Guinness Asset Management, a London-based specialist fund management company set up in 2003.
Some existing investors, including Edinburgh-based firm Par Equity, are also participating in the latest funding round.
Headquartered in Portglenone and with offices in the US and Australia (it employs around 80 staff), PlotBox provides a cloud-based system which has been dubbed 'Google Maps for cemeteries'.
It has grown over the last decade from multi-award-winning start-up to become the leading digital transformation partner of choice for deathcare service providers across the globe.
Founded in 2014 by husband and wife team Sean and Leona McAllister, it has pioneered the integration of high-resolution drone mapping imagery, geographical information systems, cloud-based software, and cemetery records - innovations that facilitate cemeteries and crematoria to operate to world-class standards.
The new funding will support PlotBox’s strategy for global growth and expansion, enabling its continued development of products and services that will help to revolutionise the way deathcare facilities both operate and grow.
