One of Ireland’s leading independent fashion retailers, Best Menswear, went live on the IRP e-commerce trading platform in late 2020 and since then has enjoyed growth rates of 500 per cent.
The successful partnership with Belfast based IRP Commerce is Best’s third attempt at working with a company to create a profitable e-commerce site. Its previous attempts were deemed lacklustre and the opportunities to maximise growth in domestic and international markets fell flat.
Managing director of Best Menswear, John Smith said: “After meeting the IRP Commerce team, we knew straight away they have the vision and experience to help us achieve our growth potential.
“Our site went live in 12 weeks which is something I never thought would be possible. Through the Bestmenswear.com site, customers who know and value our brand are enjoying the same excellent service and product range they have become accustomed to from Best Menswear.
"We are delighted that our e-commerce site complements our retail stores and strengthens our customer base here in Ireland and beyond.”
With 11 retail stores across Ireland, Best is known for stocking the world’s premium menswear brands such as Hugo Boss, Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein and its own exclusive brand Marco Capelli.
It also offers bespoke tailoring and made to measure suiting and has a long-standing partnership with Leinster Rugby.
Over the last 18 months, the Best team has been able to take advantage of the full suite of products and features and now has all it needs to make the online store a runaway success.
In particular, the IRP Trading Terminal has been able to use Artificial Intelligence and machine learning to turn Best’s data into revenue-generating, profit-boosting actions in real time. Its powerful prediction capability allows the e-commerce team to acquire, convert and retain more customers.
John Smith adds: “As a business owner, having the relevant facts and figures to hand and quickly acting on what is reported is very important to drive profitability long-term. IRP has thought of everything an omnichannel business owner needs to know in terms of highlighting profitable channels, profitable products, performance of service providers and so on. Not every e-commerce platform provider thinks in these terms.”
Shipping issues among other concerns post Brexit were something Best Menswear found challenging in 2021, but this year it is ramping up distribution to the UK and US and with these markets assured, its future looks bright.
“As we head into another profitable year on the IRP trading platform we are on track to meet our ambition of becoming one of the biggest menswear online retailers in Ireland. Thanks to our partnership with IRP Commerce we have the tools and the team who are aligned and focused to make this happen,” John added.
