Northern Ireland Water has warned of a sharp increase in the number of blocked sewers as families stay at home during the coronavirus lockdown.
The company said the blockages have been caused by customers flushing wet wipes down the toilet.
It warned customers to only flush the 'three ps' - pee, poo and paper - and said the problem was putting a strain on its resources.
We have noticed a dramatic increase in sewer blockages from customers flushing wet wipes. They are also damaging our equipment. Please only flush the 3p’s, pee, poo and toilet paper; everything else goes in the bin. This is causing a strain on resources in this difficult time. pic.twitter.com/M8agqFK44D
