Wicked star Ariana Grande has said there are no plans to tour her latest album “at the moment” as she is currently “focused on acting” and “would love to do more films”.

The Grammy-winner, 31, released her seventh studio album, Eternal Sunshine, in March and confirmed a deluxe version of the album “exists”.

“I have no plans for live shows at the moment, I was thinking about doing a mini-tour in between the Wicked films, but that is no longer happening,” she told the Variety Awards Circuit podcast.

Grande plays Glinda in the film, which is split in two-parts, with the second half set for release in November 2025.

Speaking about a tour, she said: “Even if it were going to be a mini thing… I like to do things a certain way, and it takes months and months and months and months to build the show, to rehearse the show, to make it what I would envision for my fans.

“I kind of have a specific vision for things, and sometimes that will delay them, but I love singing those songs and I really love performing and being on stage right now, I don’t have a plan for that, but it’ll always be in my life. And I love those songs very much.”

The singer said she “scratched an itch” when she performed a number of songs at the 2024 Met Gala – fashion’s biggest night of the year.

“I’m really, really grateful to be focused on acting, and I feel so at home here. I hope that’s okay”, she said.

Speaking about the deluxe version of Eternal Sunshine, she said: “Okay, so she exists, she exists.”

“There’s a very special thing that I have, it is in the can, and it has to do with Eternal Sunshine, and I love it very dearly, and I’m holding on to it for when the time feels right.

“I am out there so much right now, I want to let my children miss me for two seconds.

“And I’m excited to surprise them with it at some point, but I’m still mulling over the timing in my head.

“But I have something I really love that I’ve been working on, that I have made, and it’s not the end of Peaches just yet, but she’s going in the closet for a minute and then she’ll come back out later.”

Her character “Peaches” appears in the music video for single We Can’t Be Friends (Wait For Your Love), which pays homage to the film Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, featuring Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet as character Clementine.

Grande added: “I know that I would like to have this chapter be focused on acting. I would like to stay right here, and I would love to do more films.”

In December, her record label Republic Records said in a social media post: “There are no plans for a tour next year, but Ariana remains deeply appreciative of her fans and all their continued love, support and excitement.”

Grande, who was nominated for a Golden Globe award in her Wicked role, secured her fifth number one album in the UK chart with her 2024 album following its release.
