NETFLIX has revealed further details of its upcoming new series House of Guinness from the creator of Peaky Blinders.

Today, the streaming service announced that production has begun on the Steven Knight created, written and produced drama inspired by Ireland’s famous brewery-founding family, and shared details of its cast, which includes two talents from the north and several other Irish actors.

West Belfast-born star Anthony Boyle (Masters of The Air, Manhunt) will play Guinness heir Arthur Guinness, while Co Down actor Seamus O’Hara (An Irish Goodbye, Blue Lights) will play a character called Patrick Cochrane.

Filming has now commenced in Manchester on the Kudos-produced series, which Netflix say is “set in 19th-century Dublin and New York” and “will reimagine the period immediately after the death of Sir Benjamin Guinness, the man responsible for the extraordinary success of the Guinness brewery, and the far-reaching impact of his will on the fate of his four adult children, Arthur, Edward, Anne, and Ben, as well as on a group of Dublin characters who work and interact with the phenomenon that is Guinness.”
