Justin Timberlake is to play Belfast’s Ormeau Park next summer, with tickets on sale this Friday.

The US pop star (43) will play a headline gig for Belsonic on Thursday, June 26, next year.

Fans can expect to hear their favourite hits from across his back catalogue as well as singles from his latest album, Everything I Thought It Was.

Together with NSYNC and his solo career, the entertainer has sold 124 million albums worldwide as well as winning ten Grammy awards.

The Forget Tomorrow World Tour spans 50 cities and marks his first return to the global stage in five years, but in June there was concern it could be derailed after he was arrested in New York for driving while under the influence.

He later appeared to brush off the controversy at a concert in Chicago, telling fans: “It’s been a tough week… I know sometimes I’m hard to love but you keep on loving me and I love you right back.”

Earlier this month, he reached a plea deal by pleading guilty to the less-serious and non-criminal offence of driving while impaired.

He was ordered to pay a £580 in fines, to do 25 hours of community service and make a public safety announcement outside court.

“Even if you’ve had one drink don’t get behind the wheel of a car,” he said.

“This is a mistake I have made, but I hope whoever is watching and listening right now can learn from this. I know I certainly have.”
