British actress Keeley Hawes transforms into an assassin in first-look photos from her upcoming thriller series.
The six-part series, titled The Assassin, sees Hawes portray retired assassin Julie who is forced to fight for survival alongside her estranged son Edward, played by Freddie Highmore.
The pair are forced to flee an idyllic remote Greek island and go on the run together when Julie’s dangerous past catches up with her.

Hawes can be seen perched on a dirt mound while aiming a sniper rifle in a newly released picture from the series.
In another picture, the actress looks into the camera while stood beside Highmore’s character Edward as the sun sets over the island.
Hawes said she felt “so lucky” to have spent the summer in Athens with the “wonderful” Highmore and the “high-calibre” cast and crew.

“Bringing Jack and Harry’s spectacular scripts to life was an absolute joy – going to work has never been so much fun”, she added.
“I hope everyone enjoys The Assassin as much as we did.”
The series is the latest project by writing duo brothers Harry and Jack Williams, who produced the hit comedy Fleabag and created the thriller series The Tourist starring Jamie Dornan.
Hawes has previously starred in hit series including Line Of Duty, Bodyguard and Spooks, as well as Channel 4 drama It’s A Sin and ITV political drama Stonehouse.

Highmore, who came to fame as a child starring as the titular character in Charlie And The Chocolate Factory, said it was a “joy” to work on the project.
“It doesn’t get better than a Greek adventure alongside the lovely and incomparable Keeley Hawes”, he added.
“I’m really excited for people to glimpse some of what we’ve been up to.
“It was a joy to collaborate with such a brilliant cast and crew, and I feel very lucky that Harry and Jack Williams entrusted us with their characteristically thrilling writing.”
In one of the pictures from a worm’s-eye view, Highmore appears shocked as he looks down.
The pair both serve as executive producers on the project, which also stars Riverdale’s Gina Gershon, The Tourist’s Shalom Brune-Franklin and Pirates Of The Caribbean star Jack Davenport.
Dynasty’s Alan Dale, Casualty actor Gerald Kyd, Cursed’s Devon Terrell, Blue Lights star Richard Dormer and No Time To Die actor David Dencik also feature in the series.
