Singer Lady Gaga has announced her seventh studio album Mayhem which will be released on March 7.
A video announcing the release showed the singer, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, in gothic attire with a droning synth and static noise sounding in the background.
Mayhem’s third single and its video will be debuted during a commercial break at the Grammy Awards on Sunday.
Gaga released the single Disease last October, and Bruno Mars duet Die With A Smile in August, and both songs will be on the new LP.
The 38-year-old said: “The album started as me facing my fear of returning to the pop music my earliest fans loved.”
She described the record as like “reassembling a shattered mirror – even if you can’t put the pieces back together perfectly, you can create something beautiful and whole in its own new way”.
The record will be produced by the New York-born singer alongside Andrew Watt, who produced the Rolling Stones’ 2023 return Hackney Diamonds, and the singer’s fiance Michael Polansky.
The album is available to pre-order on Lady Gaga’s website along with a range of merchandise including hoodies, shirts and socks.
Before the Grammys, the singer will join artists including Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, Stevie Nicks and Joni Mitchell to perform at FireAid on January 30, benefitting people impacted by the recent Los Angeles wildfires.
The Bad Romance singer has won 13 Grammys during her career, and has had six number one albums and four number one singles in the UK.
In 2024, the singer played Harley Quinn in Joker sequel Joker: Folie A Deux, and released the album Harlequin as a companion album to the film.
