US comedian and podcaster Tim Dillon is preparing to make his Belfast debut with his new stand-up tour, American Royalty.
Since starting his comedy career in 2010 Dillon has released several comedy specials and toured the world with his stand-up routines.
In 2017 Rolling Stone named him one the 10 Comedians You Need to Know describing him as “seemingly capable of formulating an articulate (and often contrarian) opinion about anything at a moment’s notice”.
His first one-hour special entitled A Real Hero which landed on Netflix in 2022, introduced Dillon to a new audience and following the shows success and Dillon’s unique brand of cultural commentary and satire he has been able to ascend into the upper echelon of modern comedy.
In addition to ranting about fast food, living in Texas, adults who love Disney and the reason no-one should be called a hero, he also jokes about his Irish heritage in the special. Born and raised in Island Park in New York, he is of Irish Catholic descent.
Dillon also hosts the popular Tim Dillon Show, a comedic video podcast that discusses events from his life as well as new topics that often revolve around American cultural issues, the entertainment industry, and politics. The show regularly attracts over one million viewers and listeners per week.
In addition to being a comedian, actor and podcaster Dillon can now add author to his repertoire as his book, Death by Boomers: How the Worst Generation Destroyed the Planet, but First A Child is set to be published on April 30. It’s billed as an autobiographical account of the comic’s life including his struggles with substance abuse and sexuality.
