Song performed by DJ Avicii at his last concert released posthumously

The Swedish music star played the track at his final performance at Ushuaia in Ibiza in 2016.

A song performed by the late DJ and producer Avicii at his last concert is set to be released posthumously as an official single.

The Swedish music star, who took his own life in April 2018 at the age of 28, played the track at his final performance at Ushuaia in Ibiza in 2016.

Titled Forever Yours – Tim’s 2016 Ibiza Version, being released at midnight, the song gained attention after featuring in two new Netflix documentaries: Avicii: I’m Tim and the concert film Avicii: My Last Show released last year.

The DJ, real name Tim Bergling, produced the song alongside Marcus Thunberg Wessel with the vocals performed by Swedish singer Sandro Cavazza.

The song has been released in collaboration with Avicii estate’s alongside Universal Music and Pophouse.

Behind-the-scenes content of Avicii creating the track will also be released on his social media pages.

In one of the clips, the late DJ can be seen mixing the track in a studio and playing piano as he adds layers to it.

Cavazza had released a version of the song alongside Norwegian DJ Kygo in 2020 as a tribute to Avicii following his death.

Avicii first rose to prominence in 2011 with his Grammy-nominated single Levels and he was nominated again in 2012 for his collaboration with David Guetta on their track Sunshine.

He was further propelled into stardom with the release of his megahit Wake Me Up in 2013 as part of his debut studio album True and he released his second album, Stories, in 2015.

He collaborated with an array of music stars during his career including Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, Nile Rodgers, Adam Lambert and Rita Ora as well as producing for the likes of Madonna, Coldplay, David Guetta and Tiesto.

The artist’s third and final album, Tim, was released posthumously in 2019 with the proceeds going to the Tim Bergling Foundation.

Forever Yours – Tim’s 2016 Ibiza Version will be available on streaming platforms at midnight local time.
