BBC Radio 2 presenter Zoe Ball has revealed her daughter was taken to A&E after her ex-husband Norman Cook, known as the DJ Fatboy Slim, dropped a Christmas tree on her foot.
The 54-year-old said during her Wednesday morning show that Nelly is “going to be alright”, but was not able to go in for her last day of school or go ice skating with friends.
Ball said: “Sending love to my Nell. It was supposed to be her last day at school today, but unfortunately her dad unintentionally dropped a Christmas tree on her foot and she had to go to A&E yesterday and have an X-ray.
“But it’s okay, it’s just swollen, she’s going to be alright, but she was supposed to go ice skating with her friends from school today and she won’t be able to get her foot in the boot.
“The things that you don’t think are going to happen, he’s obviously very apologetic, poor love, this happens doesn’t it?
“What a story to tell though, so I’m sending her lots of love this morning.”
Ball began dating Cook when working at Radio 1, and the pair married at Babington House in Somerset in 1999.
They separated in 2003 after Ball revealed she had an affair with DJ Dan Peppe, but they reconciled and continued as a couple until 2016, when they announced their separation before divorcing in 2020.
They have two children together, son Woody who was born in 2000, and Nelly who was born in 2010.
Ball recently announced she is stepping down from her role on the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show to “focus on family”.
She will be replaced by Scott Mills, who she said she is “really chuffed” for, and will host her final show alongside him on December 20.
