EOGHAN Rua, Coleraine dual player Ruairi Mooney will run his new solo exhibition and sale of work, titled the ‘Home’ collection, at Portstewart Golf Club on Friday, August 2, Saturday, August 3 from 11am-8pm, and Sunday, August 4 from 11am-6pm.

The summer exhibition will be his second and final event of the year, following on from his hugely popular exhibition events in 2022 and 2023 and a spring exhibition earlier this year.

The ‘Home’ collection celebrates the stunning North Coast and its powerful scenery. The collection includes a range of framed original paintings ranging from A3 size to large-scale works of over a metre. The pieces not only capture the beauty of the landscape but celebrate a memory or a moment in time.

The landscape paintings include studies of iconic locations such as the Dark Hedges and the Giant’s Causeway, as well as seascapes of the artist’s hometown of Portstewart. A selection of Mooney’s limited edition prints, including detailed portraits of iconic figures like Seamus Heaney and John Hume, will also be on display and available for sale.

“The North Coast holds so many special memories for people, whether you grew up there or visited in younger years,” he said.

“I want to channel that feeling of nostalgia and cherished memories that were made in this amazing place. I am delighted with this new collection of art and I can’t wait to share it publicly.

“This exhibition has some of my most creative work yet and really showcases my development as an artist. This process has involved a lot of months of preparation in the studio, so I’m looking forward to meeting people to share the collection and have a chat about it.”

Admission is free and everyone is welcome. Commission orders can be undertaken.
