Abbey Vocational School will take on St Patrick’s Maghera in the Danske Bank MacRory Cup final, with the Donegal school making the decider in their first ever year in the competition.
The latter shared the title in 2020 due to the outbreak of Covid-19, and also won the competition outright in 2016.
St Pat’s are managed by Seán Marty Lockhart, with the former intercounty star describing the encounter as ‘50/50′. Tiarnan McBride and Conor McCahill are among the Four Masters’ contingent they will keep a keen eye on, winner of the St Paul’s tournament on New Year’s Day.
The decision was made to move the showpiece event to Celtic Park after damage was done to the BOX-IT Athletic Grounds in Storm Éowyn, with the MacRory Cup final taking place in Derry for the first time ever in over a century of the competition’s history.
Where and when is the Dankse Bank MacRory Cup final?
The 101st Danske Bank MacRory Cup final is fixed for Celtic Park this Sunday, February 9. Throw-in is set for 3pm.
Preceding that is the MacLarnon Cup decider between Dean Maguirc, Carrickmore and Patrician, Carrickmacross, with throw-in there at 1pm.
