Donegal GAA will be appearing before the Ulster Hearings Committee of the Ulster Council over queries raised by the Killybegs GAA club as to the method of voting at the County Convention earlier this month.

The hearing is due to take place towards the end of January.

It is believed that the Killybegs club are concerned about the method of voting that was used on the night.

Each club has four delegates. two of which are named at the start of the year and two others who may also vote on the night.

However, it is unclear what the procedure is if none or one of the named delegates is not present on the night.

When contacted, Killybegs GAA club chairman John Boyle declined to comment, but it is understood that part of their issue is that they are asking to check the voting register on the night.

Efforts to contact Donegal chairperson Mary Coughlan were unsuccessful

However, Coughlan has clarified that Donegal will be asked to clarify the issue by Ulster Council in the New Year.

“Donegal has received notice from Ulster Hearings that we have to appear before, and respond, to the Hearings Committee in Ulster at the beginning of January with regards to a query by the Killybegs club to how the method voting at Convention was conducted.”, she told Donegal Live.
