It is crunch time for Errigal Ciarán as they take on capital opposition in the shape of Cuala at Croke Park for the All-Ireland senior club football title.

Tyrone’s finest Errigal have already become the top side of their county in the history of the All-Ireland championship, being the first Red Hand team to make it to the showpiece at GAA HQ.

This season will be one to remember for the Dunmoyle outfit, with the previous provincial success of 2002 matched in style with a tight win against Kilcoo at the Athletic Grounds with Peter Óg McCartan taking matters in his own hands and securing the Seamus McFerran Cup for his side.

Standing in their way is the equally as inexperienced at this level Cuala of south Dublin. The dual club boasts a couple of core Dublin panel members in the shape of Con O’Callaghan and Michael Fitzsimmons.

The Dalkey club have had previous success at this level in hurling, with Con O’Callahan playing a crucial role in the club’s back-to-back All-Ireland successes in 2017 and ’18.

Cuala’s maiden Dublin and Leinster titles this year mark a historic year for the senior panel already but this ambitious squad of players would be eager to cement this season in the minds of the local community by taking the All-Ireland crown on the first try.
