AFTER the festive period, Errigal Ciarán now have the opportunity to continue their attempt to repeat history when they face Dr Crokes in Portlaoise.

The Tyrone and Ulster champions have had a mercurial run to this stage, after a tough Tyrone campaign, their run-in to the Ulster final was full of elite performances.

Ciarán’s meeting with Kilcoo was no different as the Ulster final was fought closely between Down and Tyrone’s finest, with Errigal Ciarán shading a classic at the Athletic Grounds.

Dr Crokes have had a similar route to the semi-final, winning the Kerry SFC with relative ease, beating Dingle in the final before defeating Castlehaven of Cork, only to almost become undone by Rathgormack of Waterford in the Munster SFC semi-final.

Tipperary dual champion club Loughmore-Castleiney awaited the champions of the Kingdom in the showpiece for the southern province final, where they managed to take the title with relative ease winning by 0-15 to 1-06.
