Shane Ryan: Saved superbly to deny Andy Murnin in the first half, but fumbled a high ball for Armagh’s goal, a match-turning moment. 7

Paul Murphy: A regular danger going forward, and palmed in the opening goal, but was guilty of losing possession on a few occasions. Never stopped trying, but did tire and was taken off. 7.5

Jason Foley: Pushed up a few times early on. Lost Murnin for his goal chance but generally a composed presence until gaps began to appear everywhere. 7

Tom O’Sullivan: Another attacking back, set up David Clifford’s only point in normal time, but blazed a goal chance wide. 7

Brian O Beaglaioch: Started very well, with good use of the ball and good covering across, but kicked a poor wide and faded. 7

Tadhg Morley: Didn’t get to grips with Grugan initially, but settled to his task and defended well in first half. Less effective as more Armagh attackers came off the bench. 6.5

Gavin White: Stood off a little too much sometimes, but had a better second half than many colleagues, carrying ball forward. 7

Diarmuid O’Connor: Steady presence, getting the better of Ben Crealey, and kicked a first half point before rising to keep the ball in for the Kerry goal. 8

Joe O’Connor: Good movement into attack and also made a defensive block, but lost Grimley for his brace of points, and conceded a free with a tug. 6.5

Tony Brosnan: A lively opening, scoring a fine early point, and also helping out in defence but like so many of his colleagues his performance dipped. 7

Paudie Clifford: The skipper had a mixed first half, scoring himself but not tracking the runs of McGrane. Stood up in the second period with a block and another point, and always kept trying to lift his team. 8

Dara Moynihan: Got a rare score inside 10 minutes, and linked play nicely at times, but taken off for Burke. 6

David Clifford: Found it hard to escape the attentions of McCambridge, who robbed him for one break. Scored 0-4, including one particularly fine free, but posed little scoring threat in latter stages. 6

Sean O’Shea: Started strongly with rapid opening score, ending with 0-4. Roved around to good effect and coolly converted a 45 but attacking threat waned. 7

Paul Geaney: Booked very early on and his day didn’t improve much; kept trying but his passing and shooting were off, and he was subbed. 5.5

Substitutes:

Cillian Burke: Made little impression as replacement for Moynihan in normal time, but snapped up a point in extra time and looked lively. 7.5

Killian Spillane: Got his hands on some ball but couldn’t spark the scores Kerry needed. 6.5

Dylan Geaney: Shot a great leveller, then narrowly missed chance to win it in normal time. 7

Graham O’Sullivan: Replaced O Beaglaioch late in normal time, but Kerry defence remained too open. 6

Barry Dan O’Sullivan: On in 70th minute but failed to inspire Kerry in extra time. 6

Stephen O’Brien: Came on for second period of extra time to little effect. 5.5

Sean O’Brien: Not on long enough to be rated
