GROUP B

Erne Gaels 0-13 Ederney 2-3

ERNE Gaels opened their Mannok SFC campaign with a four-point win over Ederney in Belleek.

The home side will be keen to go one better having lost the last two finals and Declan Bonner’s side made a strong start to the contest.

Ederney had landed the opening point through a Sean Cassidy free but Erne Gaels responded with seven points on the bounce through Barry McCann, Shane Rooney, Ultan Kelm, Michael Og McGarrigle and Dan McCann.

The visitors, though, were given a boost at the end of the half as Eoin McKervey swooped for a goal to leave three in it at the break, 0-7 to 1-1.

Points from Aoghan Kelm and Rooney pushed the lead back out to five but Ederney replied well and when Sean Cassidy plundered a goal it left one between the sides, 0-10 to 2-3.

But Belleek knocked over the final three points of the game, Rooney again on target to leave four in it at the finish.

Derrygonnelly 1-12 Devenish 2-9

THERE was late drama as holders Derrygonnelly were held to a draw by Devenish.

The Harps had appeared to be on their way to the win when a Shane McGullion point put them four ahead as the contest moved into added on time.

However, Stephen O’Brien palmed to the net for Devenish from a high ball and Fionan O’Brien then rattled over an equaliser as it finished 1-12 to 2-9.

Derrygonnelly had led by two at the break, 1-5 to 0-6, Shane McGullion’s well-finished goal the key score of the half.

The home side pushed six clear by the midway stage of the half with Gary McKenna and Rory Joe Duffy among the points.

Jamie Flanagan replied with a goal for Devenish but the Harps looked to have sealed the points going into added time before the late Devenish salvo.

GROUP A

Kinawley 0-6 Belnaleck 0-6

Kinawley and Belnaleck shared the spoils in this derby encounter on Saturday evening.

In a low-scoring contest, there was only one point in the opening quarter as Dylan Boyle slotted over for the Brian Borus.

However, Belnaleck hit three unanswered points up to the break, including two Darragh McGurn frees, to leave the away side 0-1 to 0-3 up at the interval.

Boyle landed his and Kinawley’s second from a mark but Che Cullen replied for the Art McMurroughs.

Kinawley, though, appeared to have gained the upper hand as Tomas Corrigan notched a point from a free and another fisted effort before goalkeeper Shaun Doherty rifled over from distance to put the home outfit ahead.

A Dara Cathcart point then put two between the sides with six minutes to go but Belnaleck finished the stronger and another McGurn free was followed by a good Kane Connor effort to leave it level at the final whistle.

Enniskillen 2-6 Teemore 0-9

ENNISKILLEN Gaels claimed the spoils in Friday night’s opening games as they saw off Division Two champions Teemore Shamrocks at Brewster Park.

Goals were the key for Simon Bradley’s outfit, raising a green flag either side of the interval to eventually clinch a three-point victory.

Enniskillen started the brighter as they rattled over the opening three points with Brandon Horan among the points.

Teemore did settle into it with Ronan McCaffrey chipping over a point, but scores from Conor McShea and Conor Love put Enniskillen three ahead by the 22nd minute.

And this was followed by the first of the home side’s goals as Love exchanged passes with Paddy Reihill before slotting to the net to leave it 1-5 to 0-3 at half time.

The away side knocked over the opening point of the second half to leave four in it, but Enniskillen then struck for their second goal as Callum Jones played a one-two with John Reihill before palming home.

In fairness to Teemore, they refused to lie down and Ronan McCaffrey and Oisin Murphy kept the scoreboard ticking over for them

But a second point from Horan nudged the Gaels five clear and although McNally and Murphy landed points for the Shamrocks it was Enniskillen who finished up three-point winners.
