The Monaghan Ladies’ county board have announced that senior ladies’ manager Darren Greenan will not continue in his role in 2025.

A statement today announced that Emyvale ladies’ boss Darren Swift - formerly over Errigal Ciarán’s ladies - will take the role on as part of an ‘interim management’ team, as Monaghan’s Lidl Ladies’ Division Two campaign looms.

Greenan, appointed in late 2023, oversaw a successful Lidl Ladies’ Division Two campaign last year, with a standout result coming in Truagh as the hosts drew with Ulster rivals Donegal.

Monaghan exited the Intermediate Championship in the last eight, losing out narrowly to Down.

Having taken over from former Currin men’s manager Kieran Kearns, Greenan also won an All-Ireland ‘B’ Championship with The Farney’s minor ladies, beating Longford after extra-time in 2022.

It is expected that Swift will remain in place for the duration of time that it takes Monaghan to appoint a full-time manager.
