The Magherafelt side brought in Kelly Scullion as a sub at half-time and it immediately paid dividends as she found the net with her first touch to level the game.

Although Aislinn Coulter responded with a goal for Knock, St Pius X had their tails up and Áine Young drove forward for a couple of points before Hannah Downey pulled first time to the net to put them into the lead.

Again Knock came back with a second goal from Coulter with seven minutes to go to narrow the lead to two points, but Áine Young’s long-distance free a couple of minutes later went all the way to the net. St Patrick’s, Keady await in the final.

Ulster County Shield semi-finals

Our Lady’s, Castleblayney 1-2 St Aidan’s, Cootehill 0-2

St Benedict’s, Randalstown 3-3 Dominican, Fortwilliam 2-2

OUR Lady’s, Castleblayney and St Benedict’s, Randalstown came through low-scoring semi-finals to reach the County Shield final early next month.

Although Aoibheann Callaghan got St Aidan’s, Cootehill off to a good start in Castleblayney with an early point, Our Lady’s grabbed the other two scores of the half during the last five minutes via Megan Hughes and Aoibh Bishop.

Ella Farrelly levelled early in the second half and there was plenty of goalmouth action at both ends of the pitch. But Diya Nidesh grabbed the only goal around the midway point to send Our Lady’s through.

St Benedict’s also scored just once during the second half of their semi-final with Dominican in Tír na nÓg, but it was their first-half goals from Sinéad McCann and Carla Carey that did the damage for them to lead by 2-3 to 1-2 at the break.

Dominican responded with a goal and a point from Aoife Conwell and a point from Ava Reilly and, with Conwell, midfielder Isabelle McGirr and goalie Sofia Reilly playing well, they looked well placed for the second half.

However, Dominican managed to score just once more over the second half, a goal from Kila Sheehy, and that was cancelled by a three-pointer from Eimear Neeson for the mid-Antrim school to reach their first final at this level.

Junior Medallion Shield semi-final

St Patrick’s, Dungiven 3-11

St Columba’s, Portaferry 3-5

ST Patrick’s, Dungiven came from eight points down at the break in Coláiste Feirste to reach next month’s Junior Medallion Shield final.

St Columba’s dominated the opening half and led by 2-5 to 0-3 at the break, Orna Savage the key player for the peninsula side and Faith Robinson and Cara McGrath scoring the goals.

Dungiven pressed the poc-out from the start of the second half and it began to pay off with goals from Emily O’Kane and Amy Deighan edging them ahead. Cara McGrath hit back with a goal for Portaferry, but the pressure was all at the other end and Teagan Anderson eventually broke the resistance with a third goal for Dungiven.

The second semi is tomorrow in Bawnacre between St Columba’s, Stranorlar and Befine College, Cavan.
