ULSTER and British champions go head to head in the Twinning final to see who progresses to the All-Ireland Junior Club series.

This year sees Tara, of Greenford in West London, take on Naomh Padraig, Uisce Chaoin, of Muff, Co Donegal, in Ruislip to see who will take on Kilmurry of Cork for a place in Croke Park on All-Ireland Junior final day.

This fixture was meant to take place on December 7, however, was postponed due to an unplayable surface at McGovern Park.



Naomh Padraig won promotion to the Donegal intermediate level after a first junior county title win over Carndonagh in Inishowen.

At the provincial level, St Comgalls (Antrim), Collegeland (Armagh) and Craigbane (Derry) all fell to the sword as the Donegal champions marched on to the final stages.

Tara won the London Junior title after beating St Kiernan’s of Barnet 1-15 to 0-8 to move on in their club season.

In the provincial competition across the water, Tara contested the All-Britain Intermediate-Junior play-off, where they beat Dulwich Harps by two points to move to the semi-final.

John Mitchell’s from Liverpool proved not strong enough for the Greenford outfit and Tara set a date against Roger Casement’s from Coventry in the All-Britain final.

The game was played at McGovern Park and finished 3-4 to 1-7 to Tara, crowning the London side kings across the water and allowing them to play for a place in the All-Ireland series on Sunday.

The AIB Ulster Twinning JFC final between All-Britain champions Tara GFC of London and Naomh Padraig, Uisce Chaoin from Muff, Donegal, is on Sunday, January 5, in McGovern Park in Ruislip.

Throw-in is scheduled for 12pm.
