TYRONE referee Séan Hurson has been appointed the referee for fellow Ulster side Armagh’s All-Ireland final against Galway.

A member of the Galbally Pearse’s club in the Red Hand county, Hurson will referee his second All-Ireland decider after taking charge of the 2022 final, which also featured Galway with the Tribesmen losing to Kerry.

Hurson has also refereed the All-Ireland Minor Final in 2018, U20 All-Ireland Final in 2021 and All-Ireland Senior Club Final in 2022, in which Kilmacud Crokes controversially defeated Glen to take the club crown.

The final will be Sean’s 34th Senior Football Championship fixture since he started in 2016 and his eighth game this year in league and championship football.

This will not be the first time this season that Hurson has officiated this fixture, as he was the man in the middle when the two sides met in the All-Ireland round-robin series.
