COUNTY final season is upon us, and today sees Antrim, Down and Donegal crown their Senior Football Champions for the next year.

In the Mourne county, Kilcoo have clinched a sixth Down SFC title in a row after beating Burren handsomely 1-10 to 0-04.

In Antrim, Erin’s Own, Cargin have managed to win a third successive Antrim SFC title at Corrigan Park in west Belfast.

Portglenone’s loss of Dermot McAleese to a black card on 26 minutes didn’t help matters for Roger Casement’s but despite putting up a tough fight and taking the game to extra-time, Cargin remain the kings of the Glens.

In Donegal, St Eunan’s took a historic 16th title as they beat Dungloe 1-13 to 1-10 at MacCumhaill Park in Ballybofey.

Aside from the Ulster county finals getting started, A clash of the titans took place in Derry, as All-Ireland champions Glen beat Slaughtneil in a showdown of a semi-final.

Jody McDermott’s 59-minute goal proved to be the difference for Watty Grahams as they march on to a fourth straight Derry SFC final.
