Ulster is well-represented in LGFA Junior and Intermediate All-stars as 13 players get the gong

Fermanagh lead the way with six all-stars, Tyrone and Down also represented

Junior All-Ireland champions Fermanagh lead the way for Ulster in terms of team of the championship winners as a total of 13 Ulster players have been selected at the intermediate and junior levels.

The Ernewomen won the junior championship after beating Louth at Croke Park to regain intermediate status, whilst Tyrone Ladies lost the intermediate final against Leitrim, who regained their place in the senior championship.

Fermanagh had six players selected for the junior team of the championship: Ciara Clarke, Molly McGloin, Shannan McQuade, Cadhla-Cara Bogue, Bláithín Bogue and Eimear Smyth.

Smyth was Player of the Match in the All-Ireland Final victory over Louth and her high-scoring exploits throughout the season earned her the ZuCar Golden Boot award as the leading scorer in the TG4 All-Ireland Championships.

Five Tyrone ladies received awards: Jayne Lyons, Meabh Corrigan, Aoibhinn McHugh, Emma Jane Gervin and Aoife Horisk

Down’s Ladies footballers are also represented in the intermediate team of the championship through Erin Sands and Laoise Duffy.

Down and Tyrone met in the Intermediate semi-final in Clones where just a goal separated the sides as the O’Neill county went on to the showpiece.

LGFA President Michael Naughton said: “The 2024 TG4 All-Ireland Junior and Intermediate Championships produced brilliant football once again.

“We are delighted now to once again acknowledge the outstanding contributions of the competition’s leading players in the Junior and Intermediate Teams of the Championship.

“The Championships were packed with superb action, plenty of drama and numerous talking points.”
