ALL-IRELAND finalists Glen are sweating on the fitness of Ryan Dougan and Jack Doherty ahead of Sunday’s decider at Croke Park against Connacht champions St Brigid’s.

Both Dougan (hamstring) and Doherty (ankle) suffered injuries during their All-Ireland semi-final win over Kilmacud Croke’s on January 7.

At last night’s club press night, Watty Graham’s boss Malachy O’Rourke was hopeful the two players will be passed fit as the south Derry men try to go one better than 12 months ago.

“It is a waiting game to a degree,” said O’Rourke, “but we’d still be hoping the two boys would be good to go.

“This week has been mainly rehab work but we are hoping as the week goes on they will be able to do a bit on the field.

“At this stage, certainly we’d be hoping the two of them will be able to play.”

Doherty took a heavy hit and had to replaced in the 21st minute against Kilmacud, while Dougan felt his hamstring go 10 minutes after the restart.
