THIS year, the hurling championship has been full of twists and turns, right up until the semi-finals which both provided upsets.
Before these semis, Waterford star Austin Gleeson predicted a rematch of last year’s hurling showpiece between Limerick and Kilkenny.

He could not have been more wrong, as two crackers of semi-final ensued and blew most people’s predictions out of the water.
The Rebels will hope to have Liam McCarthy back down on the south coast for the first time since 2005 when Seán Óg Ó hAilpín lifted the trophy after beating Galway.
Cork will have something to remember this season by, come what may, as they did the championship double against Limerick, who were going for five All-Irelands in a row.
Clare, while also an outsider, have had a shorter wait to get back to the top of hurling, last winning the championship in 2013 after beating their opponents this year, Cork.
Kilkenny were heavy favourites heading into their semi-final with the Banner but an Aiden McCarthy-inspired Clare side came out on top to topple the Leinster champions.
