AFTER the twists and turns of this year’s All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, the teams have been whittled down to the final two teams.
Sarsfelds, of Glanmire in Cork, and Na Fianna of Drumcondra in Dublin take each other on at Croke Park today for the honour of being called All-Ireland Champions for the next twelve months.
Sarsfields earned their spot at GAA HQ after defeating Derry’s Sleacht Néill in a close encounter at St Conleth’s Park in Newbridge, Co Kildare, with Sars winning by a single point to edge out the Ulster champion Robbies.
Na Fianna, under the management of new Dublin hurling manager Niall Ó Ceallacháin, have had a historic season, winning their first-ever Leinster Senior Championship and making their first All-Ireland final by beating Galway champions Loughrea in Semple Stadium, again with a single point deciding the game.
Little separates these two sides but both will be looking to secure their first All-Ireland crown atop the steps of the Hogan Stand.
