What do I need?

White vinegar: this ingredient is known for its natural ability to kill weeds thanks to the acetic acid it contains.

Salt: just like white vinegar, salt acts as a dehydrant for plants and stops them from being able to absorb water.

Dish soap: while salt and white vinegar share properties which are sure to upset weeds, they aren’t enough to kill them completely – they will only kill off the leaves.

Dish soap will ensure that your weeds are cleared root and stem by helping break down the waxy protective layer on the weed plant.

Spray bottle: you’ll also need an empty spray bottle to pour your mixture into and spray onto those pesky weeds!

How do I make the weedkiller?

Step One: using your empty spray bottle, pour in some white vinegar and add salt.

Step Two: close the bottle and give it a good shake.

Step Three: once the salt is dissolved, add the dish soap into the white vinegar and salt mixture.

Step Four: you’re now ready to get rid of those weeds! When spraying your weedkiller mixture, make sure to coat all the leaves and roots – and be careful not to spray it on to any plants nearby!

Within a day, most weed plants will be completely dead and you will be able to then remove them.

However, for larger weeds you might need to apply the mixture more than once.
