There’s a new ghost in town, or it could be the same ghost visiting a different celebrity residence, it’s difficult to keep track of an invisible spirit.
The wandering soul has set up home in Katie Price’s Mucky Mansion and she wants it out, out, out. In the ghost’s defence, it’s not the worst thing about a house so ‘rundown’ a production company agreed to make a reality TV series about its transformation from squalor to semi-squalor.
Nonetheless Katie has made it her mission to de-haunt the Mucky Mansion and has announced her first step: “I emailed someone last night; paranormal investigators”.
We know because she has a new podcast with her sister and it was practically the first thing she said.
Sleb Safari is freaked out by all and any mentions of paranormal activity. Even someone spraying Ghost perfume inside its home would be too much and the For Sale sign would be up by the morning.
If Katie’s ghost had visited six months ago she would have made it into the roll-call of 2022 celebrity hauntings. That was the year where celebrities either had a ghost, talked about having had a ghost or discovered they could commune with ghosts. We hit peak paranormal activity around October when Craig David announced he was psychic, clairvoyant and clairaudient and good luck to him because that sounds like a full-time job.

Before David there was Vanessa Hudgens who explained that she was leaning in to her ability to talk to ghosts and told the story of how she had got chatting to a ghost/bored lorry driver on a walkie talkie. Or, as she called it, a ‘spirit box’ which “scans radio frequencies really quickly… something about the electricity that it creates allows spirits to speak through it”.
At the start of the year Gemma Collins shared how mum had spotted an alien reading a newspaper on the train. Like Kate and Vanessa before her, Gemma is a believer in things that can’t be explained, once hiring a “professional space clearing consultant” to remove negative energy from the Dancing On Ice rink after a nasty tumble. Money for old rope, you say? Why yes it is.
The absolute worst celebrity ghost story belongs to Courteney Cox who bought a house once owned by Carole King and Gypsy Rose Lee before her. So far, so cool. You’re imagining standing in the room where Carole King sat at the piano belting out (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman. Courteney also thought it was cool; even when friends told her “they felt an encounter with a woman who was sitting on the edge of the bed”. Until one day when a delivery driver said “‘Do you know this house is haunted?’ And I go, ‘Yeah, why? Why do you think that?’ And he goes, ‘Because there is someone standing behind you.’ And I was like, ‘Let’s sell’.”
So you see Katie, there’s always someone worse off. Take heart though, your haunting won’t last forever. Celebrity ghosts are notoriously fickle, this one will be living with an Atomic Kitten by September.
Teeny tiny handbag sells for $60,000
In luxury handbag news, you’ve missed out on buying a truly unique bag. The teeny tiny Microscopic Handbag by New York art collective MSCHF has sold at auction for $60,000.
The dot was made by a 3D printer, and as the name suggests, is best seen through a microscope. Is it practical? Nope. But it is novel and Sleb Safari salutes the ingenuity behind it.

Lewis Capaldi takes a break
Lewis Capaldi has announced he is taking a break from touring in order to prioritise his physical and mental health.
It’s always wise to press pause when you’re unwell and Lewis acknowledges that he is in the fortunate position that he can afford to stop working.
US gymnast Simone Biles also made the right decision to withdraw from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics to focus on her wellbeing.
Hopefully their example will encourage others to speak up when they’re in need of help.
